Alison Lempia (She/her) graduated from Saint Cloud University in the Social Work Master’s program. Her passion is social work because it transforms compassion into action. Alison sees the world through a social worker’s lens which takes into account the need for systemic change and her goal is to help people navigate obstacles related to poverty, trauma and navigating difficult relationships.
Alison is a BIPOC Ally and a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. She is neurodivergent. She is interested in working with people in the LGBTQIA+ community. She has always had a passion for advocating for better mental health care in my community. She is also an advocate for universal healthcare, affordable housing and aims to be a part of a community that takes care of one another. As someone who has family with a variety of mental health disorders including schizoaffective disorder, Alison wants to help people who are having difficulty navigating their mental health or have loved ones who struggle with mental health and substance abuse. Alison believes in harm reduction.
Alison has an upbeat personality and copes with a sense of humor. She enjoys the strengths-based approach and encourages the empowerment of others. She is EMDR trained and has an interest in somatic therapy and the connection between body and mind. Alison has 7 years of experience working at group homes. Alison also has an interest in the science behind sleep and dreaming. Her hobbies include video games, hiking, kayaking, enjoying the sunshine which she calls lizard time, listening to loud music like heavy metal and EDM, and loves animals.
