Colby Paumen (she/her) is a queer, transfeminine woman who has called St. Cloud home for nearly twenty years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in psychology at National University. Colby brings a thoughtful, client-centered, and deeply empathetic approach to her work.

As a queer, transfeminine, and neurodivergent therapist, Colby is acutely aware of the challenges that LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent people face in accessing truly affirming care. She is committed to creating a safe, predictable, and welcoming space for people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures. Her practice is explicitly gender-affirming, neurodiversity-affirming, kink-aware, polyamory-affirming, and sex-positive, with particular care for clients who have felt pressured to mask or minimize who they are in other settings.

Colby especially loves supporting people who are questioning or exploring their gender to figure out who they are on their own terms. Drawing on her personal history of gender-affirming surgery and her own journey with gender dysphoria, she is honored to walk alongside clients as they consider whether social and medical transition – including hormone therapy or surgery – are right for them. Colby also offers single-session gender-affirming care assessments and letters for clients who need documentation to access gender-affirming interventions, and approaches this work with respect, collaboration, and a strong commitment to informed consent.

With her lived experience and compassionate, collaborative style, Colby is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate identity, mental health, and relationships in ways that foster safety, self-compassion, and genuine pride in who they are.
