Kat Oliver, MSW
- Deaf / hard of hearing issues
- Art therapy
Kat (they/them) graduated with a Master of Social Work from St. Cloud State University in 2023. They are 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming and a BIPOC ally. They are originally from Wisconsin but moved to Minnesota to pursue their master’s degree. Their current goal is to move towards getting their LGSW licensure and go on to be a LICSW. Kat’s ultimate goal is to specialize in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, art therapy, and the 2SLGBTQIA+ population.
Kat is hard of hearing and uses hearing aids to help them, but they still may need to ask some to repeat themselves sometimes. They are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ population, identifying as nonbinary. In their free time, Kat enjoys playing video games (all different kinds), completing puzzles, creating anything artsy, and watching YouTube. They also enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons and want to learn Pokémon and Magic card games again. While only taking a couple of ASL classes, Kat is also in the middle of teaching themselves ASL. Kat can be shy initially, but they sometimes say things very bluntly but do so with compassion.
Kat looks forward to meeting new people and finding their own little groove in the therapy life!
