Amanda (she/they) is a graduate student intern pursuing a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, emphasizing trauma-informed systemic therapy. She combines Narrative and Emotionally-Focused approaches to their work with individuals, couples, and families. Amanda also offers EMDR therapy to interested clients.

Amanda’s college education started many moons ago at the College of St. Benedict, where she received a bachelor’s degree in music (piano performance). After college, she held a wide range of positions, including band instrument repair tech, piano instructor, barista, PCA, office assistant, and truck driver for the last decade. Each experience has enriched their ability to connect with others from all walks of life.

When not working or studying, one can find Amanda at home, tending to their balcony garden, playing video or board games with their partner, Bryan, or reading in a comfy chair with Diesel, their ferocious but adorable cat. Other interests include hiking, painting, playing piano, and crocheting. She is a self-identified foodie and loves creating fantastic food for their family and friends or going and checking out the latest restaurant. Though they do not teach often, Amanda is also a yoga instructor (RYT-200) and has found healing in their personal journey through the mind-body connection.

Seal Dwyer, MS LMFT, supervises Amanda.
