LGBTQIA+ Therapy

Queer therapy and queer-affirming therapists can help you change your life for the better, and even save your life.

Individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community often receive a lot of stigma and discrimination from many directions. Often times, this can be a detriment to their feeling of safety and overall well-being.

The aim of LGBTQIA+ therapy is to provide a safe space for those that define themselves as a member of that stigmatized community. It offers a place of empowerment where challenges can be safely navigated. This type of therapy provides a sense of community and belonging that individuals may or may not have access to otherwise, and this can go a long way in improving one’s mental health.

Many times, members of the LGBTQIA+ community have dealt with therapy and therapists that denied their identity, made them feel wrong, or made them feel unsafe and unheard. It may have caused them to hate therapy. LGBTQIA+ providers are queer-affirming and validate their patients’ identity. This positive, affirming space gives members of the queer community an unjudgmental space to work through their feelings, traumas, depression, anxiety, life decisions, and any other mental health issues they may be experiencing.
